This year, a small record company in Norway celebrates its 20th anniversary, which is no small feat in a small Nordic country. Coincidentally, that also makes it the longest running record label of its kind in Norway. Happy birthday, Origo Sound, and let's hope for many more returns!

Finland - up there in Northeastern Europe, known for being the home of Santa Claus, its sauna culture, mobile phones, and now also the band Nemesis. At least, Nemesis do what they can to put Finland on the electronic music map. Their latest album, Gigaherz, was released this month.
The Finnish group Nemesis feels they cannot continue to "rape the Earth" and has thus created Gigaherz, a 77-minute musical journey through the evolution of life and mankind up until our present impact on Mother Nature.
The third and last Future Proof release from Origo Sound was Nanotopia by Circular, which consists of Bjarte Andreassen and Jostein Dahl Gjelsvik, formerly of Neural Network. Nanotopia was Circular's first album, and the album visits several different areas of electronic music through one hour of playing time.

Planet Origo spoke to Harald Lervik (in 2004), founder and director of Origo Sound in Norway. The label helped preparing the success for Biosphere in the early and mid 90s, as well as releasing music from established and new artists in the ambient and ambient-trance genre. Origo Sound is now a division of Planet Origo, so please excuse the nepotism :-)
